Expertise

Knowledge of projects

Dion is at home both in government and in the financial world. He has extensive experience with the implementation of projects as a project and programme director.

Knowledge of projects

He has been in charge of major, international projects, such as the development of the Schengen Information System in both the Netherlands and Europe, and IT systems for banks. Some of this latter work also took place in India.

Knowledge of management

Dion has not only been active in the management of IT projects and change processes. He has also been the director of large organisations, such as the Netherlands National Audit Office.

Knowledge of management

He is well-known for his vigour, humour, and people-oriented approach. And naturally he is also good at “connecting”. This is demonstrated by the projects he has carried out in India.

IT knowledge

Over the past 30 years, Dion has constantly been involved in IT, from word processing at the Netherlands National Police Force in the early stages of his career, up to the very recent development of the Dutch Government Cloud.

IT knowledge

His specialist fields include identity and access management, security, and IT projects. Via assignments at the Ministry of Defense and of Economic Affairs he is well aware of the latest Cyber Security issues.

Knowledge about coaching and management skills

What a lot of coaching there is nowadays! In the Netherlands, there are 40,000 registered coaches. Some are good, and some not so good.

Knowledge about coaching and management skills

So how can you tell the difference? And do you always have to coach, or is it sometimes simply better to manage?

Knowledge about soft controls / the human factor

Why do so many projects fail to meet expectations? Year after year, it is estimated that around two thirds of projects are not completed on time.

Knowledge about soft controls / the human factor

The success rate can be improved by giving proper consideration to the human factor: what interests are involved, what is the real motivator for the success of a project, and conversely what motivates people to sabotage a project?

C-level knowledge of IT and governance

Dion has been responsible for leading IT projects and change processes at an executive level, and knows how to manage projects effectively.

C-level knowledge of IT and governance

Because he has so much practical experience, he knows how to make the link between C-level strategy and the implementation in practice.
